I always maintained my weight by exercising and eating
properly but sometimes things happen that are out of our control. I was
diagnosed with stage 2 ovarian cancer and had to have a hysterectomy. Two
months afterwards, I started 6 months of chemotherapy.
I ate healthy but with low energy levels I wasn't able to
exercise to full capacity, this resulted in a 15 lb weight gain. After I completed the chemo and was given the
green light that all my cancer was gone, I started on my very own "Back to
Basics" eating and exercise program.
Because of my age (57) and my slow metabolism, it would take
me one year to lose the fat and gain some beautiful muscle. At the time that I
started the program, I was weighing 150 lbs. At the one year mark, I was
weighing 145 lbs. While I lost a lot of fat, I gained a lot of muscle. This is the goal of the "Back to
Basics" program. The goal is to burn the fat while at the same time,
building muscle. The only way that this can be done effectively is through
proper nutrition and exercise.
I would love to see you on this journey and reach your
fitness goals as well!
Much love!
